Dig into each part

Five kinds of work, see details on its own page: what you set up, what students see, and where the results are.

Oral exams

Magister reads your questions aloud. Students record. You grade from the recording and transcript.

AI that drafts to make your decisions faster

Questions drafted from a PDF, slides or a photo. A suggested grade on open answers, with the reasoning. Your decision is anyway final.

AI tools in detail

Assessments and proctoring

Timed assessments from question pools and attempts. Proctoring that takes over the screen, blocks pasting and notes when a student leaves the page.

Assessments & proctoring in detail

Assignments

Set a task with instructions and reference files. Students write or upload their work and save drafts. You grade with feedback and release results when ready.

WORKFLOWS

Six workflows, step by step

What you set up, what your students do, and what you get as a result.

  1. WORKFLOW 01

    Give a proctored assessment

    1. 01

      Build your questions

Type them, upload a PDF, Word, Excel or CSV file, photograph a worksheet, or let the AI draft from your course material. Maths notation is handled properly.

    2. 02

      Set the rules and proctoring

Duration, start and deadline, attempts, shuffled options, whether students see the correct answers afterwards. Draw from a question pool so no two papers are the same. Switch proctoring on and track all attempts of students to cheat.

    3. 03

      Students take it

Only the students or groups you assign can open it. Answers save as they type. With proctoring on, the assessment takes over the screen, pasting is blocked and every time a student leaves the page or tries opening notes is noted.

    4. 04

      Review the results

Multiple choice and short answers are graded the moment they submit. For open answers, ask AI for a suggested grade with reasoning, then apply or adjust it.

  2. WORKFLOW 02

    Run an oral exam

    1. 01

      Prepare the questions

Write them as you normally would. Magister Desk turns each one into audio and Magister reads it to each student in turn.

    2. 02

      Configure the experience

How long students get to think, how long they can speak, and whether they see the question text or only hear it.

    3. 03

      Students speak their answers

On their own computer: hear the question, think, record, next. No appointment with you needed.

    4. 04

      Listen and grade

Play each recording, read the transcript, give a score. Tonight, tomorrow, or at the weekend.

  3. WORKFLOW 03

    Set an assignment

    1. 01

      Describe the task

Instructions, reference files (PDFs, slides, images) and a deadline.

    2. 02

      Students work at their pace

They write, upload files and save drafts until they are ready to submit.

    3. 03

      Review submissions

See who handed in and who did not, preview files without downloading, grade each one with feedback.

    4. 04

      Share results

Release grades to the whole group at once or one student at a time.

  4. WORKFLOW 04

    Track progress

    1. 01

      Everything in one gradebook

Assessment scores, oral exam results and assignment grades, across all your courses, in a single view.

    2. 02

      See who is struggling

Question analysis ranks the hardest questions first and shows which answers students picked.

    3. 03

      Filter and export

By course, group, assessment or assignment. Save the gradebooks you need. Export the lot to Excel.

    4. 04

      Students see their own progress

Each student has a personal gradebook with their scores. Nothing to send out by hand.

  5. WORKFLOW 05

    Use AI tools

    1. 01

      Generate questions from your files

Upload a chapter or type a topic. The assistant drafts questions; you keep, edit or delete each one.

    2. 02

      Get grading suggestions

For any open answer, ask AI for a suggested grade with the reasoning. Apply it, adjust it or ignore it. The grade is always yours.

    3. 03

      Transcribe spoken answers

Turn oral exam recordings into text so you can skim when you are short on time.

    4. 04

      Ask the built-in assistant

A help chat that knows how the platform works, for you and for your students.

  6. WORKFLOW 06

    Manage students

    1. 01

      Add students your way

One at a time, or a whole class from a spreadsheet. Sort them into classes, sections or cohorts.

    2. 02

      Invite and assign

Approve each student, send the invitation, pick which courses they are assigned.

    3. 03

      Control who sees what

Assign assessments, oral exams and assignments to specific students or whole groups. Only they see it.

    4. 04

      Revoke access any time

Remove a student from a course or group in one click.
